I’m well aware of the fact that I’m not able to blog frequently; and as always there is a reason behind it.Those who are wondering what this “OXYMORON” is, let me give a preface.
It was Manoj Thelaprolu, ya our fatty who described me about this word, when I wrote my previous blog “Heavenly Hell” and when you type this word in Word Web all you would get is “Conjoining contradictory terms”. It is this unifying effect of good and bad which kept me away from my blog.
It was on Independence Day 15th August..........we were on a trip to Mahaballeshwar …”Jai Hind”
Everything was as per schedule; The phone started making an erroneous noise as the clock ticked 4.00 AM, As the group was big we started calling each other just to ensure we will not be late; Everyone except Ravi answered the phone. Amar came with the vehicle sharp at 4.30AM, it took lot of time (22 Missed calls) to break Ravi’s sleep, and it ate our time by another 30 mins. By the time he was ready it was around 5.30 AM and then we started towards Mahaballeshwar; Sandy, Mahan, Gobi,safy and danny joined us from on the way.
It was these small road side restaurants which come handy when you think you are hungry as early by 6.00AM; we ate hot..Hot …and hot instantly made dosa’s for our break-fast…wow...The taste just made us forget where we were heading to…!!!!! Our next pit stop was after some 100 KM from the first Break-Fast spot;
Every tourist passing there stopped at this place and it was a real time-pass to chit chat and comment on all good looking chicks….we started again with full energy and to add up the energy was two good movies (“dil chahta hai” and “company”)…..no one ever got tired from the four hour journey.
Rain favoured us by making the climate very pleasant….each and every mile we passed by gave us an amazing feeling; it was the beauty of nature directly crafted by God, no doubt about it!!!!! Everyone became a child in-front of the Mother Nature. We stopped in front of a falls; exactly 23 KM before Mahaballeshwar. Everyone fuelled their stomach and those who wanted some “-OH” (alcohol) started their prayers soon they touched the water falls. I stayed away from water;
I enjoyed the nature’s beauty,Rain and the hot Corn… And believe me eating hot corn in this rainy climate is a real delight..wowwww…
..and subsequently-OH went deep in my friends and started showing its ceremonial lavish party….it was tough time for me, gobi and amar to handle all of them performing their own invented dance steps in the middle of the steep road where vehicles passed at top speed…. Hefty Mahan and Ravi were never away from our watchful eyes……I felt each and every one went to their childhood and it was only truth left in their heart…and each and every alphabet which they spilled out of their mouth were only truth…- OH worked very well….(better try this out if you want truth from anyone…)
The road was 7 foot above the flowing water stream, the mile stones along the bridge were not only an indication of the bridge but also was a barrier for the vehicles to get into any accidents; It was the time when –OH took control of my friends souls; like the computers taking control of the machines in artificial intelligence, I think it never gave any opportunity for the body to react to any of the metabolic function. It was this hefty friend who wanted to speak to me and sat on one of the mile-stone, just a few seconds had passed but by then all I could hear was a hard and crying voice of Mahan yelling all our names….It was danny who came all the way from the spot crying and yelling at us saying save him….save him…..save him..He has gone down……we didn’t have time to think….We just ran towards the water falls……….we were struck by a lightning shock...!!! our hefty friend’s body parts were donating blood to the water he had fell 7 foot down from the bridge..straight on the rocks……..he didn’t respond to our loud voice, he didn’t hear us…he was unconscious….he hardly took any oxygen…his heart beats were going down……our blood just stopped flowing and my heart stopped pumping blood…..!!!!At one point we felt he was……..gone..gone gone…..!!!...
We had to take our nerves out to put him in the van to take him to the hospital….and the only sign in the middle of all the mess was his vomiting which didn’t give us a shit feeling but a great relief that he is alive and he is recovering…..!!!Thank God
X-Ray & ECG things were not enough for the doc to confirm if he is ok or not; CT scan was necessary to ensure there was no bleeding or probs with his brain….but there was no hospitals nearby…and any internal bleeding is gonna make him worse…..Journey back to Mumbai is gonna take another 4 hrs..we were holding our nerves tight, each and every second we were thinking what the hell happened…and our prayers were to the high end to save him from all the evils and devils……We couldn’t resist ourselves from checking his heart beat every single minute…And he was all sleep……he didn’t know what had happened to him till this point of time…….even after getting discharged from ICU after two days , All the false stories continued, just to make him believe nothing had happened………!!!!OXYMORON…”Conjoining…......”
